Meet our Staff

Cindy Winchell

President/CEO

Cindy has been the President/CEO of C. Winchell Agency since May 1992.
The Agency was originally established in the basement of Cindy Winchell's house and then moved to office space and ultimately "larger" office space. The Agency has a solid track record of placing approximately 300-400 insurance professionals every year. In 2006, the sudden death of her husband and business partner, Charles Winchell, could not and did not deter her total commitment and devotion to C. Winchell Agency.
To that end, we are proud to announce the opening of CWA Recruiting Services of Florida, expanding our recruiting sights to the booming economy in the South East. With a dedicated staff of Recruiters and Administrative support personnel, now in 2 locations, the Agency is stronger and more successful than ever!

Aaron Winchell

CFO/Accounting Manager

As the son of Charles and step son of Cindy Winchell,
Aaron joined C. Winchell Agency, aka, the "family business" in 2000. After graduating from Montclair University in NJ with a degree in Business and Finance, Aaron wanted to "find his own way". Who better to place him, than his step mom, Cindy?
Entering a college grad training program with Greater New York Insurance, Aaron quickly advanced as a commercial underwriter specializing in Property and HPR risks. After moving onward and upward, Aaron spent time with Kemper Insurance in the World Trade Center and Tower Insurance in NYC.
Once Aaron joined the C. Winchell Agency family, he worked side by side with his Dad handling all of the firm's Accounting, Human Resources and Benefits Administration matters.
Upon the sudden death of his. Dad, Chuck, in 2006, Aaron rose to the occasion with strength and control that the company needed at the time, and he continues to ensure that all financial and accounting aspects, benefits administration and the administration of our 401K plan are handled properly, timely and with no "hiccups" whatsoever.

Aaron is the "heir apparent" to C. Winchell Agency and it's continued success and existence well into the future.

Cassandra Banko

Vice President

Cassandra Banko holds the distinction of being the longest tenured employee of C. Winchell Agency.
She began her career with C. Winchell Agency in 1996 and has been responsible for the development of our Accounting, Underwriting, Financial and Reinsurance areas. Her ability to "build relationships" has been the key to her success. Clients and candidates NEVER forget a conversation with Cassandra!
She has held the title of Outstanding Sales Performer for the agency for 23 of her 27 years.

Danielle Batista

Assistant Vice President - Operations & Administration

Danielle joined C. Winchell Agency in 2016.
After relocating from Australia to Pennsylvania, Danielle spent several years with PNC Bank, in the Pocono Pines, PA branch until we RECRUITED her away to join our growing team.
Everyone at the company LOVED Danielle as their "personal banker" and there was just no choice but to steal her away and we are so glad that we did! She began as the Administrative Assistant to our VP, Cassandra and quickly became her trusted Recruiting Assistant.
Today, Danielle is our Assistant Vice President of Operations & Administration responsible for our IT capabilities, website, job board advertising and marketing, our LinkedIn and social media presence, as well as all office operations, purchasing, telecommunications and so on. In essence, she is C. Winchell Agency's daily "existence"!

Terry Chartier

Manager - Agency / Broker Recruiting Operations

Terry's 25+ years of agency/broker Commercial Account Management experience combined with her stamina, intuition and people skills play an integral part in recruiting and placing agency/ broker candidates.
Her professional history is formerly with FM Global, Aon, Willis, and Schechner Lifson.
Today Terry manages our four person Agency/Broker Team while placing all of our Commercial agency/broker candidates.

Alicia Isaacs

Agency/Broker Recruiting Assistant

Originally from Queens, NY and after obtaining her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Old Westbury College, Alicia spent several years in the hospitality/hotel business with two of the Pocono's largest resorts (Cove Haven and Caesars' Paradise Stream).
She landed with our own Danielle Batista at PNC Bank in 2012 where she trained under Danielle as a Universal Financial Consultant. Alicia took time off to start her family and has now returned to the workforce with a vengeance. We are lucky enough to have found her to join our ever-growing, C. Winchell Agency family. Alicia is part of our very busy and successful agency/broker recruiting team.

Kathy Hernandez

Agency/Broker Recruiting Marketing Specialist

C. Winchell Agency has the great fortune of having Kathy with us since 2002!
With so many years with C. Winchell Agency, she is well known with all of our clients and candidates and is another "main stay" for the Agency. Kathy is a major part of the "A" team, with her overall knowledge of the agency/broker marketplace throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, she is extremely valuable to the agency/broker team and and C. Winchell Agency.

Michael Chironno

Claims Recruiting Specialist

Michael's career has spun him in several different directions from Property & Casualty Insurance Claims to Mortgage Originator/Sales/Lending and Management and leading him ultimately to a position in Business Development and Marketing of insurance products and services (workers compensation audits, Recovery and Subrogation services, wholesale insurance projects and the like).
In this role Mike achieved the highest sales percentage in the Company's history of 20 years.
In 2019, Mike and his fiance decided to leave Long Island, NY and relocate to the Pocono's. They were SO excited in the opportunity to purchase and run their own restaurant in East Stroudsburg. "Thanks to COVID," Mike is a victim of "one of our lost restaurants, never to return" due to all of the state shutdowns and mandates. He is not alone, that is for sure!
However, on a BRIGHTER NOTE.... Mike joined C. Winchell Agency to take on the CLAIMS RECRUITING DESK for all Auto, Bodily Injury, Property Damage, PIP/No-Fault, Subrogation, as well as Property Claims.

Jessica Ladd

Receptionist /Recruiting Assistant

Jessica joined C. Winchell Agency as a part time Receptionist/Administrative Assistant in December 2020, while attending college classes at Northampton Community College. Within weeks, it was very obvious, that Jessica was capable of so much more!
We have already promoted her to Recruiting Assistant for Mike Chironno and Ryan Smith, our Recruiting Specialists. Due to her abilities and nature, she is also taking on administrative and secretarial responsibilities for Cindy Winchell, the company president, since Cindy's long tome assistant, Tina Doyle retired in 2022.
Jessica continues her college courses at night, while never being a 9-5'er for us!
Her personality is infectiously happy! Jessica is our party planner, our holiday decorator and our overall "positive influence" everyday!

Lugina (Gina) Connolly

Internet Research Analyst

Cindy and Gina's relationship goes way back to the 1980's when Gina was an applicant.
Having rating, underwriting, BSA/QA and agency/broker account management experience, Gina's career has crossed C. Winchell Agency's for many years, and in fact C. Winchell Agency has placed Gina several times with a few of our best agency/broker clients.
When searching for the "ideal candidate" to do internet research and analysis of on- line candidates, CV/profile analysis, managing and monitoring our on-line job postings and the like, there was no one better to choose for the task!

Ryan. M Smith

Insurance Recruiting Specialist

Ryan comes to C. Winchell Agency with eight years of underwriting experience from Chubb Insurance.
While with Chubb, Ryan obtained his state license and got the "sales fever."
His drive for success and need for professional and personal "interaction" drove him right to our door. As an applicant of C. Winchell Agency and in our attempts to place him with one of our clients, Ryan's demeanor, intelligence, personality and desire to succeed was so impressive, we had to keep him for ourselves!
He joins our CWA family to place and recruit within our claims, underwriting and systems areas.

Deana McGrath

Agency/Broker Recruiting Specialist

Deana is the
Starting her career in the financial/ investment world on Wall Street for over 10 years, Deana re-enters the workforce with C. Winchell Agency after raising her daughter, who started college in 2022. Deana prepared herself for this transition by going back to school, obtaining a certification and then luckily... we found her!
Deana's personal and professional experiences throughout her life have prepared her to join our busy agency/broker recruiting team. She is responsible for the placement of our Personal Lines and Life & Health agency/broker candidates.
Under the "tutelage" of Terry, her manager, success is a given!

Gabrielle

Clerical/Administrative Support

As the daughter of our own, Kathy Hernandez, Gabby would come into the office on snow days off from school, holidays and any time that she could.
At eight years old she was photocopying, correlating paperwork and mailers, running work from our administrative staff to our recruiters throughout the offices, watering the plants and anything and everything she could find to do to keep herself busy while Mom was still working. Mostly? She just wanted to learn and HELP!
Today, Gabby is all grown up and is attending East Stroudsburg University majoring in Heath Services Administration. She returns to us, part time, as a Clerical/Administrative support employee, having never forgotten her C. Winchell Agency family.

The Agency, is totally computerized with "state of the art" hardware and software, which enables us to maintain total confidential control of all our clients and applicants. We have numerous built-in, cross-referencing capabilities and have a long established website. Since opening the Agency, we have placed individuals in P&C positions at more than 500 client companies, including many of the largest national P&C insurers and their subsidiaries, a large number of domestic and international reinsurers as well as the top national brokers, large-mid sized regional brokers, as well as many “main street” agencies. Our client base also includes the most well-known claim service/TPA’s and large self insured corporations for in-house claims and risk management personnel. You will note that the majority of the experience of our employees is insurance-related. Within the insurance industry, we handle Underwriters, Claim Professionals, Accountants, Agency Account Representatives, Programmers & System Analysts, Human Resources, Reinsurance and all other areas of Operations, Product Development, Marketing & Support, as well as Life, Health and Benefits. 

We would like to point out that we are not "head hunters". We do not "raid" client companies. Rather, we rely on advertising, referrals, the Internet through various search engines, along with current applicants to locate appropriate candidates for our client companies. All such candidates are interviewed extensively and we do not refer candidates unless we believe they truly "fit" the position in question. We will also do reference checks whenever requested by a client to do so. We do not, however, do credit or criminal checks.
